About

Holistic Orthodontic Treatment Approach

Throughout nearly 30 years of clinical experience, I have approached orthodontics not simply as the alignment of teeth, but as a comprehensive treatment philosophy that considers facial aesthetics, function, jaw relationships, the airway, the masticatory system, and long-term stability together.

Personalised and Digital Treatment Planning

I provide personalised treatment planning for children, adolescents, and adults by combining modern orthodontic principles with digital technologies. My clinical work focuses particularly on clear aligner treatment, digital orthodontics, adult orthodontics, preparation for orthognathic surgery, and multidisciplinary aesthetic case planning.

Scientific and Contemporary Orthodontic Approaches

I consider keeping up to date with scientific developments, actively participating in international education programmes, and integrating contemporary orthodontic approaches into my clinical practice to be fundamental parts of my professional philosophy.

02 Academic Background

Education and Biography

Istanbul University Çapa Faculty of Dentistry

I completed my dental education at Istanbul University Çapa Faculty of Dentistry in 1996. During my studies, I developed a particular interest in orthodontics, craniofacial development, growth and development mechanisms, and functional treatment approaches.

Marmara University Department of Orthodontics

I completed my specialist training in orthodontics at the Department of Orthodontics, Marmara University, in 2000. During my specialist training, I undertook extensive work in biomechanical principles, orthognathic surgery planning, adult orthodontics, paediatric orthodontics, functional orthodontics, and multidisciplinary treatment approaches.

International Education and Clinical Observership

Between 2000 and 2002, I participated in clinical observership and academic education programmes at the University of Missouri–Kansas City in the United States.

During this period, I had the opportunity to gain international clinical experience in contemporary orthodontic biomechanics, multidisciplinary case planning, preparation for orthognathic surgery, adult orthodontics, and digital orthodontic systems.

I believe that my education and clinical observership experience in the United States made a significant contribution to shaping the modern, digital, and patient-centred orthodontic approach that I practise today.

Digital Orthodontics and Clear Aligner Treatment

I believe that the future of orthodontics is increasingly shaped by digital treatment planning systems, three-dimensional analysis, and personalised biomechanical strategies.

For this reason, I have worked extensively with digital orthodontics and clear aligner systems for many years. I have participated in numerous advanced certification and education programmes involving different aligner systems, including Invisalign®.

After completing the Invisalign® Certification Course in 2011, I continued my advanced education in aligner biomechanics, digital workflow systems, ClinCheck® planning, TAD-supported aligner treatment, adult clear aligner treatment, and complex digital case management.

The following elements form the foundation of my clinical approach to treatment planning:

  • Digital impression and intraoral scanning systems
  • Three-dimensional orthodontic analysis
  • Facial aesthetic assessment
  • Functional occlusal analysis
  • Personalised biomechanical treatment planning
  • Digitally supported clear aligner treatment workflows

Courses and Certification Programmes

I believe that continuing professional education is one of the most important components of professional development. Throughout my career, I have continued to participate actively in national and international orthodontic congresses, multidisciplinary education programmes, digital orthodontic organisations, and advanced biomechanics courses.

My Approach to Orthodontics

I believe that orthodontic treatment involves far more than simply aligning the teeth. Every individual has a unique facial structure, jaw relationship, muscular balance, smile aesthetics, and functional anatomy.

For this reason, I consider a personalised approach to treatment planning essential. My aim is to achieve outcomes that are not only aesthetically balanced, but also functionally healthy and capable of maintaining long-term stability.

Particularly in digital orthodontics and clear aligner treatment, I follow a modern approach based on scientific evidence, respect for biological limitations, and consideration of the patient’s comfort and quality of life.

30 Years of Clinical Experience

I continue to work with a broad range of patients, from children to adults, providing modern orthodontic treatments, clear aligner systems, and multidisciplinary treatment planning.

The foundations of my professional approach include:

  • Continuing professional education
  • Keeping up to date with scientific developments
  • Using digital technologies appropriately
  • Providing personalised treatment planning
  • Prioritising effective patient–clinician communication

I view orthodontics as a long-term process of transformation in which aesthetics, function, and quality of life are considered together.
